Magento is a content management system e-commerce application that allows you to run an online store on your Internet domain. The Magento application is designed as an open-source application, which makes its source language and file structure “open” and available. This is to allow independent programmers to be able to modify this and integrate it with their own file systems. You can move your OpenCart store data to your Magento application system using the Magento extension called “Cart-2-Cart”. The process of transferring or moving your OpenCart e-commerce application data into a Magento application system is fairly straightforward.
Go to the “Cart-2-Cart,” then click the “Start Migration” button.
Enter your username and password to open your account page, click the “My Migrations” tab at the top of the page.
Select “OpenCart” from the drop-down menu for the “Source Cart Type,” then enter your source cart name and URL address. Click the “Download” button. Cart-2-Cart will then automatically establish a connection to your Source Cart files.
Click the “Target Cart Setup” button, then select “Magento” from the drop-down menu for “Target Cart Type.” Click the “Download” button. Cart-2-Cart will then automatically establish a connection to your Target Cart files.
Click the Entries Selection” button, then select all the check boxes next to each type of data that you wish to move to your Magento store (Customer Information, Product Information, etc).
Click the “Confirm Migration” button, then click the “Start Migration” button to initiate the process.
